Celebrating 100 Years of Black History

March 27, 2026/in Riverhead News /by Lilla Debowski

Our school recently came together to celebrate Black History Month with a meaningful and inspiring event centered around the theme “100 Years of Black History.” The program highlighted the rich history, achievements, and contributions of Black people over the past century, while also encouraging reflection on progress and continued growth.

Students, staff, and families gathered to honor Black voices past and present through powerful stories, reflections, and moments of celebration. The event created an uplifting atmosphere filled with pride, learning, and connection, reminding everyone of the importance of recognizing and appreciating diverse histories and cultures.

The energy throughout the event was truly special, as our community engaged in celebrating Black excellence and the lasting impact it has had on shaping our world today. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together, reflect, and continue building a culture of respect and inclusion within our school.

We are grateful to everyone who participated and helped make this celebration a success. Events like this help strengthen our community and ensure that the legacy of Black history continues to be honored and remembered.
