Title I – School-Parent Compact
This School-Parent Compact outlines how Riverhead Charter School, parents, and students will share responsibility for supporting student achievement and academic success.
This compact is developed in collaboration with parents and is reviewed annually to ensure it meets the needs of our school community.
School Responsibilities
Riverhead Charter School will:
- Provide high-quality instruction aligned with state standards
- Create a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress
- Provide opportunities for parent involvement in school activities
- Ensure that all students receive appropriate academic support
Parent Responsibilities
Parents will:
- Ensure that their child attends school regularly and on time
- Support their child’s learning at home
- Maintain communication with teachers and school staff
- Monitor homework, assignments, and academic progress
- Encourage positive behavior and respect for school expectations
Student Responsibilities
Students will:
- Come to school prepared and ready to learn
- Complete assignments to the best of their ability
- Follow school and classroom rules
- Respect teachers, staff, and classmates
- Take responsibility for their own learning
School-Parent Communication
Riverhead Charter School will:
- Provide regular updates on student progress
- Offer opportunities for parent-teacher communication
- Share information about school programs and events
- Support open and ongoing communication between home and school
