School Complaint Policy

 

Riverhead Charter School is committed to addressing concerns and resolving complaints in a fair, timely, and respectful manner.

We encourage parents and guardians to first address any concerns directly with school administration. If the issue is not resolved at the school level, a formal written complaint may be submitted.

 

  • Filing a Complaint

Written complaints should include:

  • The nature of the concern
  • Relevant dates
  • Any supporting documentation

  • Complaint Resolution Process

The school will review and respond to complaints in a timely manner.

If the concern is not resolved at the school level, it may be escalated to the New York State Education Department (NYSED) in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

 

  • Reporting Child Abuse or Maltreatment 

New York State Child Abuse and Maltreatment Hotline (State Central Registry):

This hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to report suspected child abuse or maltreatment.

This information is posted in compliance with Section 100.2(nn) of the Commissioner’s Regulations.
