Welcome to the Title I Parent Rights page. Here you can find important information about your rights and how to request teacher qualifications
Under Title I regulations, parents and guardians of students attending Title I schools have the right to request information about the professional qualifications of their child’s classroom teacher, teaching assistants, and paraprofessional staff.
Parents may contact their child’s building principal with any questions regarding the professional qualifications of faculty, teaching assistants, and paraprofessional staff members. This information may include:
- Whether the teacher has met state certification requirements for the grade levels and subject areas in which they provide instruction
- Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or provisional certification status
- The teacher’s degree(s), certification(s), and areas of study
- Whether the child is receiving services from a teaching assistant or paraprofessional, and if so, their qualifications.
Request for information about the qualifications of your child’s/chuildren/s teacher(s) should be directed to your building principal in writing. All requests will be honored in a timely manner.
